Muster roll

Definition The concept of a "muster roll" refers to a list of the crew on board a ship. In addition it may note the tonnage and the armaments of the ship. Muster rolls were needed to prove e.g. that all personnel on board had permission to be there and that no deserters from the Navy were present.en
